Occupy Toile
Occupy Toile
screen print, tea stained cotton organdy with black dye
1 yard
2011

A new democratic awakening on the horizon, Occupy Wall Street, confronts the divisive wedges of corruption, greed, and high unemployment. In this print, I represent the movement across the country and the power of the 99%.

This print draws attention to the similarities between the occupy wall street movement to the tea party movement, hence the tea stained fabric.

I identify with movements that are frustrated with the government and institutions overstepping their bounds, driven by self-interest and no longer serving the "American people," such as Occupy Wall Street and the Tea Party.
I made this print as a way of showing my support for such demonstrations of our rights.
